The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
planted in the house of the Lord,
they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him. ” Psalm 92: 12 - 15
I love your blog Julie. As an empty-nester, I too am at that period in my life where I am reflecting on what God has for me next. My only grandson lives half a continent away and has a physical disability with special needs, so I don't get to see him often, so my days are not filled with being a grandma. But your blog has given me pause to reminisce on the older women God has used in my life, and there are two specifically that come to mind, that were instrumental in my growth as a young Christian years ago. I need to connect again and tell them how much their involvement in my life meant to me, spurring me on to trust God's promises for my future at that time, and then pray that God will use me as an instrument in someone else's life.

Welcome, Pamela!
DeleteIt's nice to meet you and I'm very thankful you found my new blog. Sometime I would love to hear about your older godly women who impacted your life.
God Bless you,
Julie
On one of my rare visits to facebook, I saw you had this blog and am so pleased to add you to my/our favorites. Jaimie's night-time ritual is to have me show her a couple of blogs from people she knows. She'll love seeing your photo.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great story of you and Deb learning the meaning of your names. My middle name is also Ann; wow, that gives me hope!! Actually I was supposed to be Jane Ann almost as one name like Mary Jane; I was named after a college friend of my mother. Unfortunately, someone started calling me "Janie" soon after my birth and it took me years to be just plain Jane.
At college I tried to change to my intended name but family wasn't receptive. Now only my friends from college, so very long ago, know me as "Jane Ann". :)
Thanks for the new prayer, Lord make me a woman of grace!
